We were tickled to see Afleet Eagle go off at 6-1 and pay a juicy $14.60. His 10.5 System number towered over the field. With all AE horses scratching, it was apparent Afleet Eagle was the horse to beat, to us at least, maybe not the public.
Meteore (6.8 System number) went off as the betting favorite. He was 6 lengths back of the winner.
Scratches: Position A, Nashoba Express, Dream Now, Rainbow Goose and Gretsky.
